You know we love the Access Virus series of synths here at DMS, their incomparable sound has graced tracks of virtually every musical genre since 1998 and will continue to far in to the future. Whether you own an old, bashed up B Rack or shiny new TI2 these DSP beasts have the power, width and filters to blow most soft synths away. Take the OSC Width control knob for example, that sucker is an absolute crowd pleaser for stereo image lovers world wide. Innovation always comes along at certain points in time and that time is now! Mystery Island Music have developed the Virus|HC plugin, a PC VST and Mac Audiounit interface that turns your ageing Access Virus A, B or C into a TI (or as close as you’ll get without some serious hacking of the units internal software!). We’ve never heard a circuit bent virus, but then again, why would you want to? Virus|HC, put simply is a plugin for your DAW that gives you full control over your Virus from inside your DAW’s plugin hosting environment (such as Cubase, Logic, Ableton Live or FL Studio).
The plugin allows you to edit patches from the GUI as well as save and restore patches from your hardware unit within your DAW project file. So no more making notes on which patch that was.. and ‘oh no I’ve edited it since then…arrrgg! The plugin also features a super intuitive patch librarian, so you can store all of your presets in one place for instant recall. Really, really helpful if you have as many banks as we do!
