How to: carve out space in your mixes

How to: carve out space in your mixes

November 8th 2016

We’ve discovered an awesome plugin for clearing out those muddy mixes! While ‘EQ carving’ isn’t an entirely new idea, and can certainly be done manually using your DAW’s frequency analysis tools and EQ (some EQ’s may display a frequency response graph), Trackspacer allows you to easily cut unwanted frequencies on certain tracks in your mix, giving breathing space for other instruments that might otherwise conflict – kicks drums and basses spring to mind here, and this technique can bring a new clarity to your mixes!
