Roland to release VA 303 clone!

February 16th 2014

Roland have at last unveiled their new AIRA range – and boy do they look fun! Having owned a real TB-303, and being massive fans of Audiorealism’s Bassline 2, we’re unsure as to where the market for a virtual analogue 303 clone sits in the market, what do you think?

We do however LOVE the idea of the System-1 Plug-Out Synthesizer – it’s capable of loading emulations of classic Roland synths, starting with the SH101…while Korg touched on this concept with their Legacy collection’s MS20 controller (which let’s face it, was a bit plasticy!) the idea of being able to dial up classic Roland synths (Alpha Juno 2 please!!) at the touch of a button is really appealing. The Roland mini-site is a little scant on information regarding just which synths they’ll be emulating (and price tags!) in the future but we’re looking forward to finding out…

Check out our synth sound banks section here.
