Permutations from Studio Wormbone

‘Permutations’ from Studio Wormbone is an array of uniquely asymmetrical synthetic manipulations.  The theme for this sound pack is exactly what the name implies – it’s a highly fluid metamorphosis of abstract sound fluctuations.  These samples and one shot hits are constantly shifting, evolving, and modifying in an organic semi-controlled manner.  Predictability is left behind when these layers are woven into a production.  They defy the notion that machine music has to be static and rigid.  This is where synthesis gets transmogrified into auditory hallucinations, where molten movement governs the nature of a new sonic palette.

Importing these sounds underneath a programmed beat or sequence will give a track progressively forward momentum and push it in enlivened directions.  It will also deepen the listening experience and provide richness and character to the song.  Dubstep, Pop, House, IDM, Techno, D’n’B, Trance, Psy-Trance, Ambient, Cinematic, Electro, and game development would all benefit being permutated.

Organization:

The ‘Sample’ section of this product includes fifty long evolving samples, many of which are over 30 seconds in duration and all are constantly morphing.  The ‘One Shot Hits’ folder is comprised of eight subfolders with 25 files each for a total of 200 hits.  Their categories are Aggressive, Ambient, Futuristic, Long FX, Pure Analog, Short, Tonal, and Upper Register (higher frequency) flavors.  These hits would be ideal for use as electro percussion instruments in your favorite sampler, sci-fi sound effects, or stinger production elements in a multimedia context.

Audio demo #1 was done entirely with sounds from the Samples section.

Audio demo #2 is comprised of brief rhythmic compostions created entirely with sounds from the One Shot Hits folder.

Processing:

Most of these sounds originate from boutique analog hardware oscillators (chosen because of their warmly inviting nonlinear idiosyncrasies) in a modular style setup.  They were then animated with irregularly modulating filtration and finally treated with high end software processing.  Except where compression or reverb is a critical component of the overall intended ‘flavour’ of a sound, these files have only been subjected to conservative amounts of this kind of processing. This allows plenty of headroom for further tweaking if desired. All of these sounds are calibrated with precision to make your next project inventive, far-sighted, and mind-blisteringly innovative.

Formats:

Provided are WAV in 24-Bit/44.1khz resolution, and are of course Royalty-Free. Most of these files are atonal so they’ll fit musically into your compositions regardless of key.  Where appropriate, the key for any tonal files is listed in the file name for easy integration into your project.  Every sample has been professionally recorded, edited, sliced, and mastered with the utmost care and is usable with every major audio software program (Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Sonar, FL Studio, Sony Acid, Garageband, Ableton Live, Reason). All sounds are compatible cross platform with either Mac or PC.
